St Benedict’s is co-educational, catering for boys and girls from Years 1 – 8. Most families live in the Khandallah, Ngaio, Broadmeadows and Johnsonville areas. Some travel from other parts of Wellington (including as far afield as the Hutt Valley and Porirua) to attend our school.
Most students are NZ European. We do however consider ourselves a multicultural school as we have students from all around the world attend St Benedict’s. 23 nationalities are represented.
St Benedict’s is a signatory to the Code of Compliance for International Students, and we accept enrolments for fee-paying students from other countries.
We aim to foster an environment where students:
- Feel they belong and are accepted as a special person, created by God, with individual gifts and needs.
- Develop a positive attitude towards learning and are equipped with the skills necessary for independent learning.
- Are challenged to develop initiative, co-operation, self discipline and independence, with a sense of responsibility and fair play.
- Show respect and develop an acceptance and concern for all people and for the environment.
