Playground

In addition to our academic achievements and accomplishments, we also take pride in providing a stimulating and challenging playground environment for our students.

As well as basketball and netball courts, two sealed general ball skills areas and a grassed playing area, the school has a separate Junior playground structure and an exciting Senior adventure playground area. The latter is situated next to an open-air auditorium to further enhance facilities for our students.

Pleasingly, our new Junior playground was designed in consultation with the Year 0 to 2 students. In 2017 our students created a colourful playground with a variety of equipment; their dream is now reality and the new Junior playground is located near their classrooms and is thoroughly enjoyed by all students at St Benedict’s. This welcome addition to the school’s grounds was funded by HoK – who work hard to fundraise for our students’ benefit.

In 2018 our playground received a colourful revamp in the form of a 54 strong parent working bee, three sets of new art-works around the school, vegetable gardens, a back bank nature walk, a reflection corner, school’s values pencils and a refurbished bottom court basketball backboards and netball posts. All have added much vibrancy and value to the school’s grounds.

As always, our ambitious and future-focused school Board are continually identifying and strategising ways in which to ensure our school remains cutting edge both in the classroom, and around the school’s grounds. A number of projects are earmarked to add much value to the school.
