Years 7 and 8: Growing confident leaders

By offering a full primary school, including intermediate levels, St Benedict’s provides children with the opportunity to stay with us right through to the end of Year 8. This continuity gives students stability, a sense of belonging and the chance to build lasting relationships with their peers, teachers and the wider school community.

Our senior students benefit from meaningful leadership opportunities, actively supporting and mentoring younger children. This helps foster a culture of care, responsibility and service, where every student feels valued and empowered to make a positive difference.

To further enhance these opportunities, we are introducing the William Pike Challenge Programme in 2026. This initiative encourages Year 7 and 8 students to step outside their comfort zones, build resilience and develop essential life skills through outdoor adventures, community service and personal goal setting. It is a powerful way to prepare our young leaders for the future while reinforcing the values that are at the heart of our school.
